25 | On May 28th, 2026, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Matthew Gallo and Joshua Hatch met with Director, Robin Rivas, for the purpose of conducting an unannounced licensee initiated capacity change case management inspection.
The facility submitted an application requesting a capacity decrease from 45 school age children to 28 school age children. The indoor activity space for school age children was measured as 1,108 square feet, which will accommodate the requested capacity of 28 children. In order to meet the children's toileting needs, the TK bathroom, which features 1 toilet and 1 sink, will be converted to a school age bathroom. However, LPAs observed that this bathroom does not feature a door that can provide individual privacy, as required by regulations. LPAs observed the classroom contained age appropriate toys, materials, and furniture in a sufficient quantity for the requested capacity. The outdoor activity space, which was previously licensed for 45 children, remains the same and is sufficient for the requested capacity of 28.
Prior to the capacity change being approved, the following corrections are necessary:
-A door must be installed to provide privacy to the school age children
-Fire clearance for the requested capacity of 28 must be received.
Proof of correction can be sent by email to matthew.gallo@dss.ca.gov.
Exit interview conducted and report reviewed with the Director, Robin Rivas. A Notice of Site Visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
