25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Kyrsten Williams and Soleil Marx met with Facility Representative, Director Christina Rondoni, for an unannounced annual inspection of this preschool facility. The head start program operates in room 18, and the Wrap program operates in room 19. Operating hours for both programs are 8:00 a.m - 2:30 p.m., Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, with a minimum day schedule on Thursdays with an 11:45 a.m. dismissal. LPA observed a census of 0 children and 6 staff. Staff were preparing for school orientation will be held on August 21, 2023.
Criminal record clearance is on file with the district office. The director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
A health and safety inspection was conducted in the classrooms, restrooms, food service areas, and outdoor play areas. LPAs observed the following documents are posted: License, Emergency Disaster Plan, Personal Rights, Parents' Rights Poster, menus, and daily schedule. Cleaning disinfectants and hazardous items are appropriately stored and inaccessible to children. The director stated there are no poisons on the premises. Disaster drills are conducted with the main school and have been documented. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, and toileting facilities are in safe, sanitary, and operating condition. Bins for solid waste in the have tight fitting lids. The floors appeared clean throughout the facility. The facility provides breakfast and lunch. The food preparation space is free of litter and all food was protected against contamination. Drinking water was readily available to children both indoors and outdoors via drinking fountains and labeled bottles, pitcher and cups. LPAs observed full legal signatures of authorized representatives in sign in and sign out binders. There are no firearms nor bodies of water on the premises. LPAs observed a functional carbon monoxide detector in each classroom. Playground equipment and surfaces are free of loose or sharp parts. LPAs observed wood chip cushioning beneath the play structures. Outdoor shade is provided by trees and awnings.
