25 | On Tuesday March 12th 2024, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Mandie Goodwin and Fabian Schwartz met with Director Kirsten Garcia for the purpose of an unannounced inspection. The facility is on the campus of Anna Kirchgater Elementary School, located in the portables. The preschool’s hours of operation are from 8:30am until 11:30am and the overall facility’s hours of operation are 7:00am to 6:00pm. LPAs toured the facility, at which time a census of 9 preschool children supervised by 2 staff members were observed.
A health and safety inspection were conducted in the classrooms, restrooms, food service areas, and outdoor play areas. LPA observed the following documents are posted: License, Emergency Disaster Plan, Personal Rights, Parents' Rights Poster, required publications, menus, and daily schedules. Cleaning disinfectants and hazardous items are appropriately stored and inaccessible to children. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, and toileting facilities are in sanitary and operating condition. Bins for solid waste have tight fitting lids. The floors appeared clean throughout the facility. LPA observed smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and fire extinguishers. LPA observed a current roster, sign in and out is conducted digitally using an app, and documentation that facility is conducting emergency disaster drills at least every 6 months. Per record the last fire drill was conducted 2/14/24.
Children have access to water indoors and outdoors using a water jug and cups. Playground equipment and surfaces are free of loose or sharp parts. Outdoor shade is provided by canopies, trees, and sides of buildings. There are no firearms or bodies of water on the premises. Director stated there are no poisons on the premises.
LPA reviewed present staff files. At least one staff member present today has current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification. LPA observed immunization records and documentation of the educational background, training, and/or experience. Report continues on 809-C
