13 | At 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Amanda Blesi and Katrina Owens met with Director, Reonna Walker and Hamid Hosseini for the purpose of a complaint inspection to deliver findings. It was alleged that unqualified staff (aides) are left alone with children. During the course of the investigation, LPA conducted interviews, made observations, and reviewed records. On 1/5/2022, LPA observed an aid (staff #1) supervising toddlers on the playground without a qualified staff present. On 2.2.22 LPA's Blesi and Owens observed 3 aides supervising 22 children in the Redwood classroom. In addition, interviews revealed that on occasion, aides are left alone supervising children when there are staff shortages, during breaks, and to escort children when parents drop off and pick up. Based on LPA observation and interviews the preponderance of evidence standard has been met; therefore, the above allegation is substantiated.
LPA Amanda Blesi informed licensee Hamid Hosseini that this report dated 02.02.22 document(s) one Type A citation(s) which shall be posted for 30 consecutive days as there is/are immediate risk(s) to the health, safety, or personal rights of children in care.
