On January 30, 2024, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Stephanie Piring and Kyrsten Williams met with Facility Representative, April Vasquez, for an unannounced annual inspection. Census included 61 children in care with 8 staff. Licensee was reminded never to exceed the conditions, limitations and capacity specified on the license. Facility hours of operation are 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday.


A health and safety inspection was conducted in the classrooms, restrooms, food service areas, and outdoor play areas. LPAs observed cleaning disinfectants are inaccessible to children. LPAs observed medication properly labeled with proper documentation for administration. Medications are stored inaccessible to children. Licensee stated there are no poisons on the premises. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, and toileting facilities are in safe, sanitary, and operating condition. Bins for solid waste have tight fitting lids. The floors appeared clean throughout the facility. The facility provides morning and afternoon snack. The food preparation space is free of litter and all food was protected against contamination. Drinking water was readily available to children both indoors and outdoors via drinking fountains and personal water bottles. There are no firearms nor bodies of water on the premises. Licensee stated that carbon monoxide detectors are hard wired into the alarm system. Playground equipment and surfaces are free of loose or sharp parts. LPAs observed wood chip cushioning beneath the play structure. Outdoor shade is provided by trees, a large canopy, and awnings.

LPAs reviewed with Licensee the UC 311A, Records to Be Maintained at The Facility, for child's records, personnel records, administrative records, and documents to be posted. Children’s and staffs' files were reviewed. Each child's file had the required licensing documentation. LPAs reviewed staff transcripts and observed all staff caring for children were qualified. Multiple staff have a current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification which expire 01/2026. Staff all have current Mandated Reporter certificates. LPAs observed a current fire drill log. LPAs observed the following documents are posted: License, Emergency Disaster Plan, Personal Rights, Parents' Rights Poster, menus, and daily schedule. LPAs observed a paper sign-in and sign-out log. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test. For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1- CCP).
LPA verified that the lead testing was completed in accordance to the Written Directives outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP. LPAs referred licensee to the Department website for lead: Lead Toxicity Prevention and Water Testing Information https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/water-testing-information.

The director was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.

LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
