13 | On April 23, 2024, at 9:00AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Stephanie Piring met with Director, April Vasquez, for or the purpose of a complaint inspection and to deliver findings. It was alleged that the facility did not isolate children with clear signs of illness. Throughout the course of the investigation visit, LPA reviewed files, conducted interviews and observations.
LPA came to learn via staff interviews that although the Director made several attempts to contact the parents, the child suspected of illness remained in the classroom with other children until she was picked up. Staff 1(S1) and Director both stated that the child had blisters forming on their hands and feet that appeared to be hand, foot, and mouth. Director stated that due to not having enough staff to remove the child from the area where other children were, the child stayed with their class outside. Both Staff 2 (S2) and Director stated the child remained at the facility until they were picked up around 1:20pm. LPA observed a Doctor note in the Child's file confirming the child can return to the center and is no longer contagious.
