25 | On December 13, 2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Lea Habtom met with designated representative Martina Hernandez for the purpose of an unannounced required annual inspection. At the time of arrival, LPA observed 3 toddlers being supervised by 4 staff in room 19. One more toddler was dropped off during the inspection bringing the census to 4 toddlers. There were 2 staff in room 20 with no preschool children. The program has a toddler option in room 19 and the preschool program in room 20. The facility hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
LPA toured all classroom spaces, restroom, and outdoor play area. LPA observed the following documents are posted: License, Emergency Disaster Plan, Earthquake Preparedness, Personal Rights, Parents' Rights Poster, menu, and seat belt law. Cleaning disinfectants, medications and hazardous items are appropriately stored and inaccessible to children. Facility Representative stated there are no poisons or firearms on the premises. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, and toileting facilities are in safe, sanitary and operating condition. The program provides breakfast, lunch and one snack is prepared at the Morey Avenue Preschool location and transported to Rio Linda. Food is provided through Twin Rivers School Disctrict.
LPA observed trash bins with tight fitted lids. Drinking water is readily available to children both indoors and outdoors by using disposable cups. LPA observed the facility’s sign in and out system used on Learing Genie. Facility has record of conducting fire drills at least every six months; last fire drill was conducted December 3, 2024. Playground equipment and surfaces are free of loose or sharp parts. There is sufficient equipment and toys, and there are shaded areas supplied by trees. There is a water fountain outside and disposable cups are brought outside.
Staff files and children's records were reviewed. Both children and staff files were observed to be complete. There is at least one staff member present with a current CPR certificate. LPA observed a functional carbon monoxide detector.
