On January 25, 2023 Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Lea Habtom made an unannounced inspection to the facility. The purpose of today’s visit is to close a complaint investigation. LPA met with director Lauralyn Hill to deliver the findings. At the time of arrival there were 14 children being supervised by 1 staff in the cottage room and 20 children being supervised by 1 staff in the Alphabet classroom. Within minutes, two staff entered the cottage and Alphabets classroom. All staff but one had fingerprint clearance and association to the facility.

Staff handled child in a rough manner.

During the investigation, LPA conducted interviews regarding the allegation that staff handled a child in a rough manner. LPA Habtom toured the facility, conducted observation and interviewed those pertinent to the investigation. Based on the investigation, LPA Habtom was unable to validate that staff handled a child in a rough manner therefore the allegation is unsubstainted. Although the allegations may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the allegations did or did not occur.
