25 | On October 5, 2023 at approximately 10:00 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Josiah Gathing met with Director Michelle Ingram for the purpose of an unannounced annual random inspection. LPA observed care and supervision of eight infant children by two staff and the director. All persons requiring criminal background checks have been cleared. The facility has a maximum capacity of 18. The facility hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
LPA toured the classrooms, restrooms, front desk/office, and outdoor play area. Director stated there are no firearms on the premises. Toxic and hazardous items are inaccessible to children. Furniture and equipment are in good condition. Playground equipment and surfaces are free of loose or sharp parts and the ground below the play structure is sufficiently padded. Changing pads were in good condition and within arm’s reach of functioning sinks. The floors were clean throughout the facility. Medications are stored out of children’s reach and labeled according to regulation. LPA observed that solid waste containers were covered. Parents sign in and out using the Brightwheel application.
All present staff files were reviewed. LPA observed a current Mandated Reporter certificate which will expire November 17, 2024 and current CPR and First Aid certificate which will expire December 13, 2023.
LPA reviewed a sample of children’s files and observed them to be complete. LPA observed a fire drill log last updated August 23, 2023. LPA observed first aid equipment, functioning smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and a fully charged fire extinguisher meeting regulation. Required documents were posted.
