25 | On July 19, 2023 at approximately 09:00am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Michelle Pascual met with Director/Facility Representative Nova Williams for an unannounced annual inspection. LPA observed a census of 0 infants with 0 staff. The infant program is currently not operational, but is in active status. Director has indicated she is interviewing for infant staff and is remodeling the infant room. Director has also stated that the infant room fees will be paid as soon as possible in order to avoid closure of the program.
Although the infant room is not operational, LPA inspected all activity and classroom spaces, restrooms, food service, and outdoor play areas. Hazardous items are inaccessible to children. Furniture and equipment are in operable and safe condition. Playground equipment and surfaces are free of loose or sharp parts, and adequate cushioning was observed in areas underneath climbing equipment. Toileting facilities are in safe, sanitary, and operating condition. The floors appeared clean throughout the facility. The food preparation space is free of litter and all food was protected against contamination. Storage containers with solid waste have tight-fitting covers in each classroom. The infants bring their own food from home. Medications are appropriately stored and inaccessible to children. Facility will use full legal signatures for the sign in/out process. Infant changing tables have raised sides that are at least three inches high and have a padded surface that is washable and at least one-inch-thick. LPA observed appropriate napping equipment for each infant in care. Cribs were equipped with appropriate fitting mattresses, tight fitting covers, and were free of loose articles and objects. Bottles were labeled and stored appropriately.
