25 | On Wednesday, March 12, 2025, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Tanya Washington and Lea Habtom met with designated Facility Representative (FR) Martina Hernandez for the purpose of an unannounced annual/ random inspection. At the time of arrival, LPAs observed 3 toddlers being supervised by 2 staff in room #1 and 14 preschool aged children being supervised by 5 staff in room #2. The program has a toddler option in room #1 and the preschool program in room #2. The facility hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
LPAs toured all classroom spaces, restrooms, and outdoor play area. LPAs observed the following documents are posted: License, Emergency Disaster Plan, Earthquake Preparedness, Personal Rights, Parents' Rights Poster, menu, and seat belt law. Cleaning disinfectants, medications and hazardous items are appropriately stored and inaccessible to children. Facility Representative stated there are no poisons or firearms on the premises. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, and toileting facilities are in safe, sanitary and operating condition. The program provides breakfast, lunch and one snack is prepared at the Village Elementary School and all meals are delivered to the classroom. Food is provided through Twin Rivers School District.
LPAs observed trash bins with tight fitted lids. Drinking water is readily available to children both indoors and outdoors by using disposable cups/ water fountains. LPAs observed the facility’s sign in and out system used on Learning Genie. Facility has record of conducting fire drills at least every six months; last fire drill was conducted January 27, 2025. Playground equipment and surfaces are free of loose or sharp parts. There is sufficient equipment and toys, and there are shaded areas supplied by a shade structure.
Staff files and children's records were reviewed. Both children and staff files were observed to be complete. There is at least one staff member present with a current CPR certificate. LPAs observed a functional carbon monoxide detector.
