25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Gagandeep Singh met with the director, Felicia Berry, for a random annual inspection. Purpose of the inspection was explained. At the time of arrival, there are six children with one teacher and the director. Facility is operating with in the capacity and in compliance with staff child ratio on this day. Facility operate day care from Monday to Friday between 7 AM to 7 PM.
With director, LPA inspected the day care areas including classroom, crib area and play yard. Facility has smoke detector, smoke detector, fully charged fire extinguisher and working telephone at the site. All of the cleaning solutions, poisons and other chemicals that are dangerous to the children are stored in staff area and are inaccessible to the children. Facility has age appropriate furniture. Furniture is steady and in good repair. Facility floor is in good repair and free of any hazards. All storage containers for solid waste are in good repair and have proper lid on top. At front desk area, there are multiple thermometers that facility use to check temperature during the time of drop off. Facility has temperature log and is in use. LPA observed all of the unused electric outlets are covered with child protective covers. There is allergy list posted in the front desk area. Play yard is free of hazards. All of the play structures are steady, in good repair and free of any loose parts. There is wooden bark in place to prevent any injury. There is a tree in the play yard to provide shaded area. Director stated that there will be more shaded area added to the play yard.
LPA reviewed the facility records. LPA observed that facility has sign in / out record with full legal signatures at the front desk. Facility has COVID-19 information poster posted at the front glass wall facing outside to the parking log. Facility has license and other required documents posted in the lobby area and are visible for public. There are menus posted at least one week in advance and are visible to the child's authorized representative.
