25 | At 12:15 p.m. on Thursday, December 9th, 2021, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Karyn Guerra met with Director, Cynthia Bunton, for the purpose of a 1 year- required inspection. A risk assessment for COVID-19 was conducted prior to entry into the facility. Census consisted of 20 school age children supervised by 2 staff. Hours of operation are from 6:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Monday thru Friday. Shared Outdoor Play Space and Commingling waivers are on file with the department.
All individuals requiring criminal background check have obtained clearance. Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
LPA conducted a health and safety inspection of the classrooms, restrooms, and food service areas. LPA observed the following documents are posted: License, Emergency Disaster Plan, Personal Rights, Parents' Rights Poster, car seat laws, menus, and daily schedule. Cleaning disinfectants and hazardous items are appropriately stored and inaccessible to children in the laundry room. Director stated that there are no poisons nor firearms on the premises. Toileting facilities are in safe, sanitary, and operating condition, and provide privacy for the children. Bins for solid waste have tight fitting lids. The floors appeared clean throughout the facility. Facility provides morning and afternoon snacks. Food was properly stored to prevent contamination. Uncontaminated drinking water is made available to the children indoors and outdoors via water jugs, cups, and labeled water bottles. Medication is appropriately stored in the kitchen cabinet, inaccessible to children.
