25 | On 12/21/2022, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Alize Tillery met with Director Maria Salgado, for the purpose of a case management inspection. Upon arrival, there were 20 children, supervised by 5 staff.
The program is currently licensed for 30 children (18 toddlers and 12 preschool children). Director has requested an increase of capacity to their Preschool/Toddler Option license for a total of 42 children (18 toddlers and 24 preschool children). A granted fire clearance was received on 11/22/22.
A health and safety inspection was conducted in all areas accessible to children. LPA requested that Director submit a new facility sketch to match the current layout and update the room names and age groups in each room. The program is currently licensed to operate out of two rooms: Room 102 and Room 103. The two rooms were previously measured by LPA Tillery and LPA Lor, at 1079.278 square feet. The current square footage accommodates a total of 30 children. Program is requesting to add Room 105 to the Preschool License. With the assistance of Director, LPA measured Room 105 to be an additional 330.7433 square feet. Rooms 102, 103 and 105 have a total square feet of 1410.0213. This square footage does not accommodate the requested capacity of 42 children; the square footage only accommodates a total of 40 children. Individual measurements are recorded on the Capacity Worksheet (LIC 9024).
LPA did not observe sufficient amount of furniture, toys, and play equipment in classroom 105. Room 105 is currently being used as the infant napping area. There are 8 toilets, 4 potty chairs and 9 sinks available to children, and a separate private restroom for staff is available. Children who become ill during the day will be isolated in the office area and will use the staff restroom, if necessary.
