25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Karyn Guerra met with Applicant, Courtney Williams, for the purpose of an announced prelicensing inspection. Applicant requests a preschool license to serve 30 preschool children from age two to entry into first grade. The program will operate Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM. The fire clearance was granted on 6/3/2022.
Applicant acknowledges that the following documents must be posted at all times: License, Emergency Disaster Plan, Personal Rights, Parents' Rights Poster, car seat law, Effects of Lead Exposure brochure, menus, and daily schedule. LPA discussed the forms that must be in each child's and each staff member's file. The facility will provide breakfast, AM Snack, lunch, and PM snack.
Applicant was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
INDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE:
There are two preschool classrooms. LPA observed a sufficient amount of equipment, toys, tables, chairs, and cots. Applicant is currently in progress of classroom set up. There are first aid kit supplies and trash cans with lids. LPA observed cleaning disinfectants stored in the kitchen and office areas. Applicant stated medications will be stored in the office in a locked box. Applicant stated there are no poisons or firearms on the premises. Drinking water will be available to children via purchased bottled water. There are also drinking fountains indoors and outdoors. LPA observed a functional carbon monoxide detector. Applicant stated the facility will use an electronic sign-in/sign-out system.
