25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Tanya Washington and Application Specialist (AS) Alecia Sifuentes met with Applicant Marlett Reid for the purpose of an announced pre-licensing inspection. Applicant requests an infant license to serve 12 infant children from birth to two years of age. The fire clearance was granted on 06/07/2023 and was only approved for five infant children. The program will operate Monday- Friday from 6 AM to 5:30 PM, 6 PM- 12 AM, Saturday- Sunday 7 AM - 5:30 PM, 6 PM- 12 AM. The facility will not be providing any meals for infants, parents will be responsible for providing food while their child is in care.
LPA reviewed with applicant the LIC 311A, Records To Be Maintained At The Facility, for child’s records, personnel records, administrative records, and documents to be posted. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with applicant and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed applicant of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
INDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE:
There are two infant classroom. Licensing Staff observed a sufficient amount of equipment, toys, tables, chairs, low chairs, cubbies, napping cots, and seven cribs. Applicant acknowledges there will be a maximum of five infants under 12 months old, due to available cribs. There is a first aid kit in each of the classrooms. Medications will be stored in a upper cabinet located in the office and medication be refrigerated if needed. Licensing Staff observed cleaning disinfectants are appropriately stored and inaccessible to children. Applicant stated there are no poisons or firearms on the premises. Applicant stated each infant will have individual drinking water bottle inside the classroom and a pitcher with single use cups will be available for children outside. Licensing staff observed functioning carbon monoxide detectors in each classroom. Licensing Staff observed a binder in the front office where parents will sign in/ out their children.
