25 | On Tuesday, January 14, 2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Amanda Sutter met with Licensee, Sadiya Ahmadzai, for the purpose of an unannounced annual inspection and for a capacity increase from 8 to 14 children. The Fire Safety Inspection Clearance has been received from the Sacramento Metro Fire Department on January 3, 2025, and the home has been cleared for up to 14 children. Upon arrival, LPA observed licensee supervising her own 2 children. Licensee called her husband who assisted in translation. All individuals subject to criminal background review have obtained a criminal record clearance. LPA observed proper ratio and capacity was being followed. Facility hours of operation are Monday through Sunday from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
A health and safety evaluation was conducted in all areas accessible to children. Off-limit areas include: bedroom 2 and garage. Licensee acknowledged that children may never enter these off-limit areas. LPA observed that the facility is clean, safe, sanitary, and in good repair. LPA observed a functioning smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector, and a full 2A10BC fire extinguisher. The facility has adequate toys that appear to be safe for children to use. The licensee stated there are no weapons or poisons in the home. LPA observed a fireplace. LPA did not observe any bodies of water at the facility. The backyard is fenced.
LPA reviewed four children’s files. LPA did not observe the LIC627 in any of the children’s files. Licensee was provided with the LIC126 and LPA reviewed paperwork requirements with LPA and her husband. Required postings and the children’s roster were observed. No infants are enrolled in the facility. The facility does not have a fire drill log. Licensee’s CPR/First Aid card expires 9/2025. Licensee understands that trainings must be completed every two years. Mandated Reporter training is not offered in Licensee’s primary language, therefore she is exempt from this requirement.
