25 | On Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at approximately 1:00 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Josiah Gathing met with Applicant Ferozha Alizai for the purpose of an announced change of location pre-licensing inspection. Applicant’s spouse and three minor children were also present during today’s inspection. Applicant’s first language is Pashto and applicant’s spouse provided interpretation. Applicant plans to operate Monday – Friday 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM. All persons subject to criminal record background review have been cleared.
A health and safety inspection was conducted inside and outside the home. The first-floor apartment has two bedrooms, one bathroom, a living room, a kitchen, and a back patio. Off-limits areas: Back patio.
LPA observed a functioning smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector, 3A40BC fire extinguisher, and first aid kit in the home. LPA observed that the wall heater was not covered per licensing regulation. Per applicant, there are no weapons or poisons in the home.
Applicant was encouraged to maintain supervision at all times in unfenced areas. Type A/B citations and Immediate Civil Penalty regulation deficiencies were reviewed.
Applicant was reminded that all adults 18 and over living in the home, persons who provide care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
