25 | On September 23, 2024 Licensing Program Analysts Stephanie Piring met with licensee Linda O'Connors for the purpose of an unannounced licensee initiated case management inspection. The purpose of today's inspection is for a capacity increase from a small licensee to a large license. Fire clearance was granted on 09/14/2024 by Sacramento Metro Fire Department. LPA observed the SAFE DISPERSAL AREA in the backyard as indicated on the fire clearance.
LPA observed six children being supervised by the licensee and assistant during todays visit. All individuals subject to criminal background review have obtained a criminal record clearance.
A health and safety inspection was conducted in all areas accessible to children. Off-limits areas will include bedrooms 1 and 2, 3, master bathroom, and garage. Licensee understands that if they want to make any off-limit area an on-limits area, licensing must be notified and LPA must do an inspection before children are allowed in the area.
LPA observed a children's roster and fire drill log, the last fire drill was conducted August 2024. LPA observed a sample of children’s files, all which contained the required documentation.
LPA discussed CCR 102416.5 (d) which discusses the required ratios and capacity for a Large Family Child Care. Licensee understands that children under 10 years old that live in the home count towards total capacity. LPA discussed personnel records needed for adult and minor assistants. Licensee understands that when an assistant is not present, she must comply with the capacity and ratio requirements for a Small Family Child Care Home.
Effective today, September 23, 2024, the Facility is approved for a Large Family Child Care Licensed to serve 12 children (when there is an assistant present) with no more than 4 infants, or maximum capacity of 14 children when 1 child is enrolled in Transitional Kindergarten or above and 1 child at least age 6 with a maximum of 3 infants.
This facility evaluation report was reviewed and discussed with the licensee Linda O'Connors. A Notice of Site Visit was provided and should remain posted for 30 days for parental review. |
