25 | On March 22, 2024, Licensing Program Analyst’s (LPA) Corina Beckby met with Facility Representative, Anabelle Alvarez for an unannounced annual inspection. LPA toured the facility including all activity and classroom spaces, restrooms, food service and outdoor play areas. Today’s census included 7 children being supervised by 4 staff. The facility hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7:00AM- 6:00PM.
The Facility Representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
LPA observed that all classrooms appeared clean including the carpets and floor. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, and toileting facilities are in safe, sanitary, and operating condition. LPA observed a functional carbon monoxide detector. Chemicals and cleaning materials were kept inaccessible to children. The food preparation space is free of litter and all food was protected against contamination. Trash cans have tight fitting lids.
Infant changing stations were observed clean with essential supplies to clean and disinfect the changing area. LPA observed a changing table within arm's reach of the sink. Infant changing tables have padded surface no less than one inch thick, covered with disposable paper, and have raised sides at least three inches high. The floors appeared clean throughout the facility. The food preparation space is free of litter and all food was protected against contamination. LPA observed sippy cups with children’s names.
