25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Deanna Villagrana and Elizabeth Berumen met with licensee Sandra Schwehr for a required one year visit. LPA explained the nature of today’s inspection to her. Present were licensee, licensee's adult son Macen Schwehr, adult daughter Natasha Schwehr who are her assistants, assistant Hailey Samuelson, Natasha's finance Alexander Maycumber and nine day care children including licensee's three year old grandson. Days and hours of operation are Monday to Thursday, 8:30am to 3:30pm and Friday 8:30am to 12:30. The adults that reside in the home are licensee, adult son Macen and his partner Kaya Martinez-Amescua with their three year old son, adult daughter Natasha and her fiance Alexander Maycumber with her 11 year old daughter. Licensee failed to notify the Department of change of household.
A review of staff records on 01/17/2023 indicates that all Facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. Licensee Sandra Schwehr was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
LPAs toured the indoor and outdoor areas of the home during today’s inspection. LPAs observed that the home is clean and orderly, with heating and ventilation for safety and comfort of the children. LPAs observed barricaded stairs in the home. LPAs observed safe and sufficient materials, toys, and play equipment for the day care children. All sharp objects, detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, poisons, and other similar items inside the home are stored inaccessible to children. LPAs observed a fully charged |
