25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Zirbes met with Licensee, Janet Leonard who guided analyst on a tour of the facility for the Required One year inspection. This is a three story house with three bedrooms, three bathrooms, preschool room, kitchen/dining room, living room. Per Licensee, child care activities are provided in the preschool room located on the lower level of the home. Children utilize the one bathroom within the preschool room. In addition children utilize the backyard. All other areas of the home are off limits and inaccessible via locked door. Currently living in the home are the Licensee, and Adult 1 (A1). Upon arrival LPA observed seven preschool age children in care, the Licensee, A1 and a parent volunteer providing supervision. Current days and hours of operation are Monday thru Friday. Monday and Wednesday the preschool is open 8:30am-3:00pm. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday the preschool is open 8:30-noon
Physical Plant: Child care is provided in preschool room, the attached bathroom and the backyard. During this inspection, the on limit areas of the home were inspected inside and out for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation, inaccessibility to poisons, detergents/cleaning compounds, medicines and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children. Zero medications are stored in the areas where child care is provided. Cleaning products are stored in a inaccessible high cabinet within the preschool classroom. Zero sharp knives were stored in the areas where child care is provided. Per LPAs record review Fire/earthquake drills was last completed in October 2022. Documentation was maintained and up to date.
Safe and age appropriate toys, play equipment and materials were observed. The smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector were tested and found to be in working condition. Fire Extinguisher (2A10BC) was serviced in 2022. Per Licensee no one smokes in the home. Electrical outlets are inaccessible, no baby bouncers saucer chairs, or any recalled and or prohibited toys or sleep/ play equipment were observed on the premises. Per Licensee, the preschool room is the designated area for ill children in the child care.
