25 | On May 22, 2024, at 09:45 a.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Zirbes met with Licensee Janet Leonard who guided analyst on a tour of the home for the Annual/Random inspection. Upon arrival, LPA observed ten children in care (all over age 2) with the Licensee and Adult 1 (A1) providing supervision. Currently living in the home are the Licensee and A1. All adults are associated and have eligible clearances. Current school schedule is Tuesday and Wednesday 8:30am-3:00pm. Monday, Thursday and Friday 8:30-noon. The preschool is closed mid June through Labor day.
Physical Plant: This is a three story house with three bedrooms, three bathrooms, preschool room, kitchen/dining room, living room. Per Licensee, child care activities are provided in the preschool room located on the lower level of the home. Children utilize the one bathroom within the preschool room and the backyard. All other areas of the home are off limits and inaccessible via locked door.
The home was inspected inside and out for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation, inaccessibility to poisons, detergents/cleaning compounds, medicines and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children. During the inspection, LPA observed cleaning products were stored in a high inaccessible cabinet. At the time if this inspection zero medications are provided to the children or stored within the on limits area. Knives and sharp items are stored in the off limits areas of the home. LPA observed a smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector in the preschool room. Smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector were tested during this inspection and found to be operable at this time. A fire place was not present in the preschool room. LPA did not observe baby bouncers/saucer chairs, or any recalled and or prohibited toys on the premises. Per Licensee, there are zero firearms or weapons stored in the family child care.
