On 2/2/23 at 10:30 am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Patricia Berry conducted a subsequent complaint investigation. LPA met with Ashley Morales/director and was granted access into the facility, toured facility and took a census.

Allegation: Staff do not ensure that child’s diapering needs are met.

During pick-up, it was alleged a child’s diaper was soiled during three separate occasions. LPA reviewed six weeks of documents of staff time sheets, sign in/out sheets, and diaper logs. LPA compared the three documents to determine if there were times diaper changes may have been missed. LPA noted twice there were no entries made of the child’s diaper change after nap.
LPA interviewed four staff. Staff stated diapers are changed every two hours, as needed, and immediately when the child wakes after napping.

Staff stated they log all diaper changes on their “KinderCare APP” as well as provide written documentation to parents at pick-up if they do not have the APP. Staff stated if there was no documentation on the couple of times of the diaper changes; they were not logged off due a co-worker with the iPad being asked to log the diaper change. Staff stated they would change diapers according to each child waking up and also when the child was picked-up from school.

Based on staff interviews, and record reviewed, there is conflicting information on whether staff are ensuring child’s diapering needs are met; therefore, the above allegation is unsubstantiated meaning although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violation did or did not occur, therefore the allegation is unsubstantiated..
