25 | On July 1st 2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA)Braddock, conducted an unannounced annual inspection. LPA met with Licensee, Leona Thymes who guided LPA on a tour of the home. People who reside in the home are (Licensee) who are live scanned and have TB skin test on file and minor child (17). The large family childcare home operates Monday through Friday 6am to 6pm. At the time of the visit there were 1 child present with 1 staff member.
This is a single-story house with 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, kitchen/dining room, living room, family room, playroom and attached garage. Licensee states the living room/classroom, dining room, kitchen, 1 bathroom, playroom and backyard are utilized for the family childcare. The off-limit areas of the home are 3 bedrooms, family room, 2 bathroom and garage. There is a non working fireplace located in the family room which is accessible to children with a glass barrier but not locked. Per licensee the fireplace has not been used since 2019 and she places candles in there for decorations. There is not a swimming pool/body of water on the premises. LPA did not observe pets at the facility.
The home was inspected inside for comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation. Medications are stored in the hallway cabinet with a safety latch inaccessible to children. The kitchen knives are stored in the hallway upper cabinet with a safety latch. Cleaning compounds are stored in the laundry room inaccessible to children.
