25 | On 11/22/23 at 11:10 a.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Blanca Ruiz arrived at the facility to conduct a Case Management inspection for the purpose of addressing a separate matter discovered during a complaint investigation. LPA met with Assistant Director, Melissa Speakman. During today’s inspection, the facility was toured, and census was taken. LPA verified teacher to child ratio and observed care and supervision to be in compliance with Title 22 regulation on 11/22/23. The facility serves children ages 2 to 6 years old in Classrooms N.3, N.6 and N.10. This is a combination center, and other programs are infant and school age.
During inspection conducted on 09/21/23, LPA observed the preschool playground under renovation adjacent to the infant playground area. Director explained that construction began 09/07/23 on the center’s preschool playground. The existing play structure on the preschool play yard was removed and replaced with a new one; wood chips ground cover was removed and replaced with foam/turf. It was noted that playgrounds renovation at the center will continue until all play yards areas are completed. Per Director, administration staff verbally informed parents of the changes and new ways to enter classrooms as the flow of traffic had to be shifted due to the construction project in progress. Facility added signage on the door for parents and visitors until 09/21/2023 to update them of construction renovation progress. Per Title 22, section, 101237(a) licensee is required to inform Community Care Licensing (CCL), prior to construction or alterations, the licensee shall notify the Department of the proposed change(s).
Please see LIC 809D for cited deficiency of the California Code of Regulations, Title 22.
