32 | It was alleged that staff handled a daycare child in a rough manner. Interviews with multiple pertinent parties indicated that the child experiences difficulty with transitions, which can result in behaviors such as throwing items and dropping to the floor. The information obtained during interviews was inconsistent with the allegation. Therefore, this allegation is UNSUBSTANTIATED.
It was also alleged that staff retaliated against the child by removing the child from the program. Interviews revealed conflicting information, indicating that the child was not expelled but was issued a 10-day notice and withdrawn prior to the end of that period. Due to inconsistent information, this allegation is also UNSUBSTANTIATED.
A finding of unsubstantiated means although the allegations may have happened, or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the allegations occurred.
An exit interview was conducted with the facility representative, Kazi Akther. Appeal Rights were discussed and issued, a copy of this report was provided, and a Notice of Site (NOS) Visit was issued.
The Notice of Site Visit (LIC9213) shall be posted where the parent/guardian of children enter and exit the facility and must remain posted for 30 days during the hours of operation after each site visit by a licensing representative. Failure to maintain posting as required will result in a civil penalty of $100.00. A copy of this report must be made available for the next three years.
