32 | Allegation: Facility does not provide a safe environment for day care children. It was alleged there are safety hazards for kids outside on playground area. It was alleged the playground cover under the rubber chips is lifting.
LPA observed the play yard to be unsafe for the children. LPA observed the lining under the rubber chips lifting in several areas on the play yard which could potentially be a tripping hazard for the children. Based on LPA's observation the play yard is unsafe for the children therefore, allegation Facility does not provide a safe environment for day care children, is substantiated.
Allegation: Facility is in disrepair. It was alleged the facility is in disrepair. It was alleged there are broken cabinets and broken toys as well as broken toilets, fence is leaning and other items. LPA observed there were broken toys that were in a basket outside of the classroom; according to the director the toys were being thrown away. LPA observed a broken cabinet, which the director fixed right away. LPA did not observe any broken toilets, however, and the fence is leaning. LPA also observed drinking fountain that is hanging off the foundation. Based on LPA's observations of broken toys, broken cabinet and broken water fountain, and the fence leaning the above allegation is substantiated.
Based on LPA’s observations the preponderance of evidence standard has been met, therefore the above allegations are found to be SUNSTANTIATED. California Code of Regulations, is being cited on the attached LIC 9099D.
Exit interview conducted with director and report given.
