32 | Outdoor/Children’s Play Area: LPA inspected the outdoor play space for safety, cleanliness, good repair, age-appropriate toys/equipment, cushioned floors, and shady areas. Per LPA observation, there are no pools, spas, or bodies of water on the premises.
File Review: LPA reviewed two children files which included all required documentation. LPA verified safe sleep logs, Individual Infant Sleeping plans, and Needs and Services plans on file. LPA reviewed two staff files. At time of arrival, LPA observed Staff #1 (S1) providing care and supervision to infants. Per record review, S1 did not have verifiable units related to the care of infants and toddlers. Per Site Supervisor, S1 was only temporarily providing care to infants. LPA informed Site Supervisor that all staff providing care to infants must complete applicable infant and toddler units. For S1 to continue providing care for infants, S1 must submit completion of units related to care of infants and toddlers to the department. A Technical Violation issued.

Other: Per Site Supervisor, smoking is prohibited on the premises. Per Site Supervisor, there are no firearms/weapons stored on premises.

Site Supervisor was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
