- Weapons were not stored according to Title 22 Regulations. LPA observed ammunition stored with an unloaded firearm in a locked safe. Licensee understands all firearms, weapons, and ammunition must be locked separately and made inaccessible to children in care according to Title 22 Regulations. Licensee locked the ammunition and firearm in two separate safes during the visit.
- Facility is a one-story home.
- Verification of control of property on file (Mortgage Statement).
- Facility sketches, Emergency Disaster Plan (LIC 610A), and Notification of Parents' Rights poster (PUB 394) were posted.
- Preventive health and safety training was completed on 06/14/2014.
- Pediatric CPR and first aid certification (online only and not EMSA approved) expires on 01/23/2025. LPA discussed the requirement to renew CPR and first aid certification every two years prior to expiration. LPA informed Licensee that certifications are to include in-person instruction and be approved by EMSA.
- Mandated Reporter Training certificate expired on 10/17/2024. LPA discussed the mandated reporter training requirement and Licensee was reminded to renew the course every two years.
- Licensee confirmed there are no accessible bodies of water on the premises at this time. Licensee understands all bodies of water, including in-ground and above-ground pools, hot tubs, spas, and ponds, must be inaccessible to children in care and be properly covered or fenced according to Title 22 Regulations. The Department must be notified prior to installation of these and similar bodies of water.
- Clean, safe, and age-appropriate toys were present in the guest room and backyard.
- A current roster of children was on file.
- Documentation of fire and disaster drills was on file; last drill was conducted on 06/05/2023. LPA discussed the requirement to conduct and document fire and disaster drills at least once every six months.
- Upon entry into the facility, LPA observed an infant (C1) laying down in a crib with a pillow. LPA observed C1 was not sleeping at the time of inspection. LPA discussed the requirement to ensure cribs are free from all loose articles and objects. Licensee removed the pillow from the crib during the visit.
