32 | There is a working telephone service (cell and landline), heating and ventilation (A.C unit), inaccessibility to poisons, detergents/cleaning compounds, medicines and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children. There are no window cords accessible to children (string inaccessible). Per licensee there are no pets in the home. LPA did not observed any pets during the inspection.
Off-limit areas: Main living room, bedrooms #1-#2 (key locks), enclosed patio/laundry room (made inaccessible to children with plastic covering doorknob), and kitchen (made inaccessible with metal gate barrier).
Bathroom: Shower/Tub free of hazards. The following are inaccessible: sharp items, shampoos, razors, mouthwash, nail polish or cleaning supplies. The toilet and faucet are clean and operable.
Outdoor: Backyard is completely fenced (chain link). There is one gazebo providing shade. The rear and left section of the backyard is off limits (with a second set of white wooden picket fence, approximately 2 feet in height. Used for gardening). There is a concrete and grassy area for active play. LPA observed one slide unit which is sturdy to the ground, and age-appropriate playing equipment. The backyard houses 3 storage sheds (locked). The AC unit in the yard covered.
Advisory/Other: First Aid kit was observed in living room closet with supplies (thermometer and manual) readily available. The licensee has CPR/First Aid Expires: 05/30/2026, Mandated Reporter, Expires: 6/18/26. Fire/earthquake drills were complete and maintained current (6/12/2025 @ 3:00PM). Parent board up to date with all required forms. Roster complete and maintained current. Facility sketches up to date. The required fire extinguisher 2A10BC (full and the needle in the green with safety pin ready for use, last served 7/28/2025) located in living room closet and smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector are in operable condition. Per licensee, transportation is not being provided. License provides breakfast, lunch, and two snacks.
Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Family Child Care Homes Section 102417.
