32 | Signs of sickness or signs of fever, the temperature in taken to confirm if child has a fever, and if the temperature is above 100, the child is isolated. Isolation takes place in the director’s office. Staff notifies director when a child shows symptoms of illness and director contacts parents to notify and to pick up the child. The child remains isolated until the parent arrives for pick up. The facility also follows the 24-hour sent home illness policy. They may not return to school for a minimum of 24 hours following the end of any of the following fever over 100 with no medication, diarrhea, vomiting, pink eye, sore throat, heavy nasal discharge, evidence of no head lice.
This agency has investigated the complaint alleging staff do not follow procedures to mitigate the spread of illness. At this time, it is determined that although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violation(s) did or did not occur, therefore at this time the above allegation is unsubstantiated. No deficiency given at this time.
The Notice of Site Visit (LIC 9213) – must remain posted for 30 days during the hours of operation after each site visit made by a licensing representative. Failure to maintain posting as required will result in a civil penalty of $100.00.
