Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Justin Dorsey met with Director Carmen Rodriguez today for the purpose of conducting a required - 1 year inspection of the infant center. Present today were 4 infants and 1 teacher. There is also preschool and school age licenses at this facility.

Furniture and equipment were inspected for age appropriateness, cleanliness and good repair. Telephone service was verified as well as heating, lighting, and ventilation. LPA observed age appropriate toys and materials. The infant component is separate from the preschool and school age components. Furniture and equipment were observed in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. While observing the infant napping area LPA Dorsey observed Infant #3 napping on their back with a blanket. LPA Dorsey went over the Safe Sleep guidelines with Director. There is a refrigerator is in the infant's eating area, bottles are labeled with the infant's name and current date. The changing table is located in the infants classroom. The Changing table, is within arms reach of sink. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other items that are dangerous to children were observed to be inaccessible.

LPA Dorsey observed the outdoor play area for the infants. The play area includes a concrete slab with areas of padding for the children to play. LPA Dorsey observed all outdoor toys and equipment were in good repair. LPA Dorsey did not observe any hazardous items in the infant play area.

The facility has a kitchen located next to the school-age component. The Kitchen is made inaccessible by a gate with a latch. Chemicals and cleaning solutions are not kept in the kitchen. Cleaning solutions and disinfectants are kept in a closet near the Directors office. Per director no children in care take any medications. Any medications will be stored in the emergency kit which is mounted on the wall and locked in the infant classroom. LPA observed kitchen food prep and storage areas to be clean and free of litter. Storage containers for solid waste, including moveable bins were observed to have tight-fitting covers that are kept on and in good repair.

Teacher/child ratio was observed to be within regulations. LPA Dorsey observed the Fire/earthquake drills were not current, the last drill was conducted 06/20/20. LPA Dorsey observed Mandated Reporter training for Staff #1 expired 07/11/21. The parent board was reviewed and has all of the required forms posted. Sign in/out binder was observed. Sign in/sign out sheets are located in the lobby.

Director Carmen Rodriguez First Aid/CPR certificate was observed and found current (Expires: 03/2022). LPA observed carbon monoxide detectors were in operable condition. LPA Dorsey observed the fire extinguisher next to the infant classroom to be last serviced 02/2020 but was still fully charged. Per Director all fire extinguishers were serviced at the the same time on 02/2020. First Aid kit is located in the infant classroom. Children's allergy lists are located in the infant classroom and the kitchen.

LPA Dorsey observed staff and children files. LPA Dorsey observed Staff #1's mandated training certificate expired 07/11/21. Children files were observed to be complete.

This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. The administrator was reminded to access the Licensing website at ccld.ca.gov to obtain information about the most recent regulatory changes, and for the Quarterly Updates. Licensee advised to regularly review Quarterly Updates. Facility was evaluated in accordance with licensing laws and regulations to ensure the health and safety of children.

LIC 9213- Notice of Site Visit was given. Notice of Site Visit must remain posted for 30 consecutive days. Failure to do so will result in an immediate civil penalty assessment of $100.

Exit Interview conducted and a copy of the report was read and provided to Director Rodriguez..
