32 | The second allegation alleged that staff did not meet child's dietary needs. According to the complaint, children that did not finish their food by nap time would be thrown away. LPA conducted interviews with pertinent individuals and children in care, interviews with staff indicated that teachers would save lunchtime food and for second snack but if it was a dairy product it would be thrown away due to possible spoil. Lunchtime is a 30 minute period and staff indicated that the children are given an additional 15 minutes if needed. Interviews with children indicated that if they are not done with food they would put the unfinished portion in their cubbies, others indicated that they have been told to throw away their food. Due to conflicting information, LPA was unable to confirm the allegation at this time.
Therefore, due to conflicting information found throughout this investigation this agency has investigated the complaints. Although the allegation may have happened, or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violation did or did not occur, therefore the allegation is UNSUBSTANTIATED.
