25 | On this date and time, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Laura Mejorado and Susan Brewer arrived at the facility to conduct an inspection regarding a separate matter. LPAs met with Licensee Sandra Figueroa and their spouse who granted entrance. Also present was Licensee adult child and two daycare children. LPAs toured the facility and took census.
While touring the facility LPAs observed hazardous and poisonous items accessible to children in care. LPAs addressed issues with the Licensee and items were removed during the inspection. LPAs provided guidance and went over the storage of items that can pose a danger to children in care.
Therefore, based on LPAs observations the Facility was found to be in violation of the following Title 22 Regulation:
102417 Operation of a Family Child Care Home
(g) The home shall be free from defects or conditions which might endanger a child. Safety precautions shall include but not be limited to:
(4) Poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, firearms and other items which could pose a danger if readily available to children shall be stored where they are inaccessible to children.
(A) Storage areas for poisons, firearms and other dangerous weapons shall be locked.
See LIC809D for cited deficiency of the California Code of Regulations, Title 22.
