25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Thompson-Miller met with Licensee, Latonya Cooper, who guided analyst on a tour of the facility for an One Year Annual inspection. This is a two story 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom home with kitchen, dining, living room, family room, laundry room, loft and 3 car garage. There is no pool/or body of water on the premises. Family members residing in the home include two adults (Licensee, adult son) and two children (one licensee child, one licensee niece). Days/hours of operation will be Monday through Friday from 6AM to 5AM. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. Upon arrival LPA observed 2 child care children.
Physical Plant: Home is clean and orderly, fireplace is screened, age appropriate toys and play equipment, working smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector, 2A10BC Fire Extinguisher, no one smokes in the home. There is a designated area for ill child(ren) as necessary in the family room, no weapon/firearms, facility sketch complete and current, off limit areas include entire upstairs (all Bedrooms #1- #5, Bathroom #1 and #2, loft), laundry room (safety latch to be secured) and garage. There is a working telephone (cell and landline), poisons and cleaning items inaccessible (in laundry room, kitchen lower cabinets with a latch) to children. Stairs have a gate. Home has central AC and heat.
The home was inspected inside and out for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation, inaccessibility to poisons, detergents/cleaning compounds (laundry room), medicines (off limits bedroom) and hazardous items (sharp knives in upper cabinet) that can pose a danger to children. Fire/earthquake drills complete and maintained current. Roster complete and maintained current.
Safe and age appropriate toys, play equipment and materials. Electrical outlets are inaccessible, no baby bouncers saucer chairs, or any recalled and or prohibited toys or sleep/play equipment were observed on the premises. There are age appropriate napping (cots, playpen) equipment. |
