25 | On 8/15/2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA)Braddock, conducted an unannounced annual inspection. LPA met with Licensee, Latoya Burnell-Bentley who guided LPA on a tour of the home. People who reside in the home are (Licensee) who is live scanned and have TB skin test on file. The small family childcare home operates Monday through Friday 6am to 6pm. At the time of the visit there were 2 infants present with 1 staff member.
This is a two-story home with 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, kitchen/dining room, family room, living room, laundry room, and garage. Children have access to living room, garage (playroom), downstairs bathroom, kitchen and backyard. Off-limit areas of the home are laundry room and entire upstairs. Off-limits areas are made inaccessible by a security gate. There is empty jacuzzi on the premises made inaccessible to children by a security gate and jacuzzi cover with a lock. LPA did not observe pets at the facility.
The home was inspected inside for comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation. Medications are stored in the master bedroom inaccessible to children. The kitchen knives are stored in the upper cabinet and made inaccessible by security gate. Cleaning compounds are stored in the laundry room inaccessible to children.
The First Aid kit is in the lower kitchen cabinet inaccessible to children by a safety latch. Per licensee, there is a weapon or firearm in the home. LPA did observe the weapons. The firearm is locked individually in a safe with the firing pins and bullets separately. Smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors are in operable condition. The Fire Extinguisher is green, fully charged, and meets the standards of the State Fire Marshal. The licensee’s Pediatric CPR/First Aid expires on 1/12/26. The licensee has the required immunizations against pertussis (TDAP) and measles (MMR) The licensee completed the required Mandated Reporter training on 10/31/23.
