32 | Bathroom: LPA observed childcare bathroom to be in safe and operating condition. Toilet and faucet are in good operable condition. LPA reminded licensee to keep shampoos, mouthwash, razors, toothpaste, and other hazardous items inaccessible to children.
Kitchen: LPA inspected the kitchen for safety, sanitation, and good repair. LPA reminded Licensee, if food is brought from the child’s home, the container shall be labeled with the child’s name and properly stored or refrigerated. Licensee currently has a food program. Breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner are provided. Per LPA observation, sharp items (above the kitchen counter in a cabinet), medications (above the kitchen cabinet), are made inaccessible with magnetic cabinet locks.
Outdoor/Children’s Play Area: At the time of the visit, the back yard was utilized for outdoor play. The play area included a patio with age-appropriate toys and equipment. At time of inspection, all children in care stayed on patio. LPA observed no physical barrier between on-limits patio and off-limits yard area. LPA observed fertilizer, wood, rusted nails on dirt ground, tools, cactus, tires, lawn equipment, unlocked gate for one horse, one rooster, and six chickens in off-limits back yard. Per licensee, children in care do not interact with animals. LPA recommended licensee to barricade back yard area to ensure that all children in care do not have access to off-limit area. LPA recommended licensee to bring in all children who were outside at time of inspection until barrier is installed and outside is safe for children in care. Per licensee, the children will not utilize the back yard area until the backyard meets title 22 regulations.
Pools/Spa/Bodies of Water: Per licensee and LPA observation, there are no pools/bodies of water on the premises.
Other: First Aid Kit was observed (on top of fridge). Per Licensee, there is no smoking in the home. Per recorded documentation, Fire/Disaster drill completed.
