Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Babatunde Ibitoye met with Antoinette Mcclendon, Owner/Director, today for the purpose of conducting a Annual/Random inspection for this School Age component with a capacity of 10 children. Center has also Pre-School Component on the same property (#367750007). Owner/Director led LPA on a tour of the center which consist of 1 classroom for the School Age and the outside area. The days/hours of operation: MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY 5:00AM TO 8:00PM. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) were discussed

**Classroom were equipped with age appropriate furniture, equipment, toys and materials. The classroom are observed to be safe and free of any Health or safety hazards. Telephone service was verified as well as adequate heating, lighting, and ventilation. Children's belongings are kept in cubbies along the wall. Drinking water is available inside the classroom in the form of a water dispenser and cups.

**School age bathroom is located within the classroom. School age Classroom contains 1 toilet and 1 sink. LPA observed the bathroom to be clean and sanitary, with soap, toilet paper and paper towels readily available. The Directors office is used as an isolation room and the staff bathroom is used as an isolation bathroom.The classroom has cubbies and age appropriate furniture. Flooring was inspected for cleanliness, and good repair.

**Outdoor play equipment was inspected for health, safety, good repair and age appropriateness. Center utilizes sand under climbing structure for cushioning material and a tree and patio for shade. There are 2 swing sets that are securely anchored, bike path, sand, little tike toys and large play tires. LPA observed the fencing surrounding the play area to be at least 4 1/2 ft. tall to protect children and to keep them in the outdoor activity area, the gates were locked during this inspections with safety latches. There are no bodies of water observed on the premises.

**Food preparation area/Kitchen (staff and center kitchen) was inspected for safety, cleanliness, proper equipment & protection against contamination and storage. Center provide breakfast, am snack, lunch, pm snack and dinner. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons and other items that could pose a danger if readily available to children were stored and inaccessible to children.

**The Parent Board (located in the main entrance area) contained all documents that are required to be posted according to Title 22 Regulations. Staff are certified in Pediatric CPR and First Aid (exp 05/08/2025).

LPA observed a fully stocked first aid kit; fully charged fire extinguishers; carbon monoxide detectors throughout the center.· Requirements for fire drills, earthquake drills, and documentation for both. The last fire/earthquake drill was completed on 07/30/2024, LPA advised the Director to conduct a disaster drill every six months. At this time center will not be administering over the counter or prescription medication.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. §1596.8662 On or before March 30, 2018, a person who, on January 1, 2018, is a licensed child care provider, administrator, or employee of a licensed child day care facility shall complete the mandated reporter training provided pursuant to paragraphs (2) and (3) of subdivision (a), and shall complete renewal mandated reporter training every two years following the date on which he or she completed the initial mandated reporter training.

§1596.7995 (a)(1) Commencing September 1, 2016, a person shall not be employed or volunteer at a day care center if he or she has not been immunized against influenza, pertussis, and measles. Each employee and volunteer shall receive an influenza vaccination between August 1 and December 1 of each year.

Center was made aware that prior to working or volunteering in a licensed child care facility, all individuals subject to a criminal record review shall obtain a clearance or criminal record exemption. If a fingerprint clearance has been obtained through the Department, Licensee may request a transfer of a criminal record clearance from one state licensed facility to another using form LIC 9182.

Director advised of the requirement to report Unusual Incidents. Licensee was informed to utilize the Unusual Incident Report/Injury Report LIC624B when submitting the report to the department (email address on the website: www.unusualincidentreport@dss.ca.gov). A report shall be made to the department by telephone or fax during the department's normal business hours before the close of the next working day following the occurrence during the operation of the day-care center. In addition, a written report shall be submitted to the department within seven days following the occurrence of any events specified above. An On Duty Worker is available for questions at (661) 202-3318 Monday through Friday 8 am-5 pm.

Any duly authorized officer, employee, or agent of the Department shall, upon presentation of proper identification, shall inspect the facility. The director shall permit the Department to inspect the family child care home and to privately interview children or staff, to determine compliance with or to prevent violations of child care center or regulations, also enter and inspect any place providing personal care, supervision, and services at any time, with or without advance notice, to secure compliance with, or to prevent a violation.

Notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. No deficiency was cited today.
