13 | On August 2, 2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Kuliema Calloway, made an unannounced visit to the Adventurous Learning Group. LPA met with S1 who granted access. The purpose of the inspection was to deliver complaint findings. LPA toured the facility and observed 5 school aged children, 14 napping preschoolers, 5 napping toddlers, and 6 staff members.
During the investigation, LPA conducted interviews with staff, parents, children, and all parties involved. For each allegation, the evidence corroborates as follows: Allegation #1- Personal Rights, Staff mistreats the day care children. Allegation #2- Personal Rights- Staff yells at the day care children. Allegation #3- Personal Rights- Staff handles the day care children in a rough manner. Allegation #4- Personal Rights- Staff speaks inappropriately to the day care children, and Allegation #5- Personal Rights- Staff threatens day care children. Therefore, based on interviews, all above listed allegations on Personal Rights are Substantiated, the Preponderance of the evidence standard has been met on all the allegations.
Per Title 22 Regulations, Division 12, Chapter 1, there are two (2) Type A deficiencies cited during this visit. 101223(a)(1) and 101223 (a)(3) on Personal Rights.
