.Classroom has it's own individual bathroom which contains one toilet and one sink. Toilets and sinks are functioning properly and are age appropriate. LPA observed working toilets, soap, toilet paper and paper towels readily available.
Napping
Center will utilize mat for children to nap on. Napping equipment are well arranged so that each child has access to a walkway without having to walk on or over the mats of other children.
Outdoor play equipment was inspected for health, safety, good repair and age appropriateness. The play area has sand, dirt, grass, and concrete. There is also a cemented bike route area. The area was observed to be free of debris. Play area was inspected and found to be free of hazards and inaccessibility to bodies of water.
Children are inspected for illnesses (well-ness policy) a. A review of medication policy indicated that only prescription medication is administered with parent's written permission . The Director administers medication and documents the dosage, date and time . Medication is properly labeled and stored in its original container.
LPA verified there is at least 1 staff person present with current CPR and First Aid training (exp. 02-08-24)
*Snack/lunch menus, Allergy list were reviewed and posted. Food and snacks were reviewed for availability, quantity, proper storage, and appropriateness to children in care. Food preparation areas were toured for safety, cleanliness and proper equipment.
*Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons and other items that are dangerous or hazardous were inaccessible to children and stored in storage locked cabinet.
**Teacher/child ratio observed, care and supervision was Observed, children's records were reviewed, parent board observed and fire drills are current. Fire extinguisher operable.
*Trash cans/storage containers for solid waste had tight-fitting covers that are kept on, and in good repair. |
