Restrooms: LPA inspected and observed one preschool bathrooms with 1 toilet and 1 sink for boys and girls. The LPA observed liquid soap, paper towel, trash bins with covers, cubbies for diapers, sunscreen, and cream. LPA observed the containers for storing the sunscreen and cream has LIC9221 Parent Consent for Administration of Medications and Medication Chart. Water temperature is appropriate. Per teacher Hilda Cervantes Velasquez, soiled diapers are disposed in a diaper dispenser.
There is an isolation area for children who become ill while in care and is located in the main office. Per Site Supervisor Galvez, the child will sit on a small couch. The facility maintains a comfortable temperature at all times, first aid supplies (first aid manual/guide, bandages, scissors, tweezers, antiseptics, gauze), electronic sign in/out sheets are available and completed daily. Smoking is prohibited on the premises, daily inspection for illness, no prohibited child care items observed. Firearms/weapons are not allowed or stored on premises. There is no body of water on the premises.
Napping: Per teacher Hilda Cervantes Velasquez, preschool children nap in the facility between 12:00 P.M to 2:30 P.M. The facility provides sheets and blankets during nap time. Blankets and sheets were clean at the end of the day using the washer and drier which are located inside the preschool classroom. A wooden door prevents the washer and drier from being access by the children in care.
Outdoor: The facility has a playground area for preschool children. The preschool and school age children share the same playground area and is scheduled at different time. Outdoor play equipment was inspected for health, safety, good repair, and age appropriateness. The play area consists of concrete and sand and observed to be free of debris, free from hazard, holes, and debris. The LPA also observed slides, table, chairs, basketball hoop, tricycles, and other toys. No bodies of water were observed. According to Site Supervisor Galvez, drinking water is provided during outdoor plays.
Teacher child ratios were observed, and staff name recorded. Care and supervision was evaluated to determine if the basic needs of children are met and appropriate.
Health Related Services: According to teacher Hilda Cervantes Velasquez, there were currently no children taking medications. LPA observed the facility has LIC9221 Parent Consent for Administration of Medications and Medication Chart. |
