25 | On 10/10/2024 at 10:00am, an office meeting was conducted to discuss deficiencies cited on 09/04/2024. Present at the meeting were Licensee Representative, Christian DeMent; Center Director, Nancy Betancourt; Licensing Program Managers (LPMs) Tulam Vu and Cynthia Gray and Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Vicky Williamson and Dana Stevens.
On 09/04/2024 during a complaint inspection, the facility was cited Type A, Section 101229(a)(1) Responsibility for Providing Care and Supervision: A four-year-old daycare child was left inside of the classroom without supervision for approximately 15 minutes. Facility was also cited three Type B citations within 12 months: Reporting Requirements, facility commingling daycare children and disaster drills not being conducted. It is noted that the director corrected all deficiencies in a timely manner. In the past 24 months there have been seven (7) unsubstantiated complaints. Director stated that all staff members have received training and reviewed videos on the CCL website regarding Supervision and Reporting Requirements. Director stated that meetings with individual staff were conducted with 09/10/2024 regarding supervision and, transitioning from the classroom and the playground. Director stated that she has also implemented name to face procedures.
LPM discussed with Licensee Representative and Center Director the above deficiency, transitioning procedures and reporting requirements to prevent future violations which will lead to civil penalty assessment(s) and a Non-Compliance Conference (NCC). LPM suggested that training be obtained from outside vendors with the Director and all staff responsible for the care and supervision of children. Director stated that ongoing monthly training in the above areas, for staff by utilizing CCL's resources (CCLD website training videos and Title 22 Regulations) and a plan of operation related to these areas. Director has submitted plan to be proactive in preventing future violations.
