On 7/25/2024, at 3:00pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Vicky Williamson conducted an unannounced complaint inspection for the purpose of delivering findings regarding the above allegation. LPA met with Assistant Director, Marcela Zavala. During the inspection there were 67 children present with six (6) staff members.

It was alleged that staff hit daycare child. During the course of the investigation, interviews were conducted with assistant director, nine (9) staff members, eight (8) daycare children, eight (8) daycare parents and a witness. Director, Kendra Dedmon was not available for interview. Facility roster was obtained. Staff and children files were reviewed. Assistant Director and staff members denied the allegation and stated that the staff would never hit a daycare child. Assistant Director and staff members stated that redirection procedures are utilized for children who are displaying inappropriate behavior.

During interviews with staff, daycare children, daycare parents and a witness, no conclusive evidence regarding the allegation was obtained. There were conflicting statements obtained during the investigation. Though the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violation did or did not occur, therefore the allegation is unsubstantiated.

No deficiencies cited. A copy of this report along with Appeals Rights, were provided. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. Exit interview was conducted with Assistant Director, Marcela Zavala.
