25 | On August 23, 2022 at 10:25 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Marie Hernandez, conducted an unannounced annual inspection and met with the Facility Director Anne Thompson. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and toured the facility indoors and outdoors. This is a full day program which operates year around. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. There are currently two classrooms in operation. The following ratios were observed in Room B, there were eight children with one staff, and in Room C, there were three children with one staff. On 08/12/2022, the Department received a request/application from the facility to remove Room A from the license and add Room D. On 08/18/2022, the fire marshal approved the fire clearance for Room D. The following areas are approved and used for day care: Room B, Room C, Room D and the patio. Rooms B, C, and the patio were previously measured at time of pre-licensing inspection. During today's inspection, Room D measured at 505 square feet and can accommodate fourteen children. The facility is licensed for a capacity of 32. There are four sinks and four toilets to accommodate the children's needs. There is no swimming pool or other bodies of water on the premises. There are no firearms or ammunition allowed or stored on the premises. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible. All poisons are kept in a locked storage area.
The furniture and equipment are in good condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. The playground equipment is in safe condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. All toilets and hand-washing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating condition. Floors in the facility are clean and safe. All kitchen, food preparation and storage areas are clean, free of litter/rubbish and free of rodents/vermin. All food is protected against contamination and any contaminated food is discarded immediately. Drinking water is available both indoors and outdoors. Areas around high climbing equipment, and slides have cushioning material to absorb falls. The facility is free of flies, insects and rodents during the inspection today. Facility has one or more functioning carbon monoxide detectors that meet statutory requirements. |
