25 | On 1/27/23 at 11:30am, Licensing Program Analyst, Patrick Ma, met with Director Melinda Tretera for the purpose of an unannounced annual inspection. There were 23 children present with 5 teachers in 3 rooms, including a toddler’s component. Facility is within ratio and capacity. Program operates M – F from 6:30 – 6pm.
LPA toured the facility. The rooms were clean, orderly and a comfortable temperature during this visit. Adequate ventilation and heating are available. The furniture, books, games and toys are safe, age-appropriate and in good repair. There is a variety of activities available throughout the day. All required forms were posted. All storage containers and trashes have tight fitting lids and are in good repair. There is a kitchen connected to the all purpose room which is clean and sanitary. Families provide lunches and snack is provided by the center. Snack menu is posted, changes are recorded, and menus are stored for 30 days. Food has been stored separately from any chemicals or cleaning products. Drinking water is readily available. Napping equipment is sufficient for each child, bedding is stored separately, cots are labelled for each child, and sheet/blankets are washed every week. Facility has ensured that there is adequate space between nap cots for easy passage and that cots are not blocking entrances or exits. Director was reminded that sleep checks are conducted and documented every 15 minutes for all children under 24 months.
Hand washing and toileting areas are in a safe, sanitary and operating condition. Medications are kept in a cabinet in the Director’s office, inaccessible to children. Poisons, disinfectants, cleaning solutions and other items that are dangerous to children have been made inaccessible. There is no evidence of rodent or insect activity. |
