1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25	On 8/7/23 at 1:00 PM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Adrian Mangina conducted an unannounced annual inspection at the facility. Upon arrival LPA met with Program Coordinator, Lucia Santamaria. During today's inspection, there were 106 children in 8 classrooms with 22 teachers. Appropriate ratios and capacity were observed. LPA conducted review of staff and child files, which were complete. All staff have current Mandated Reporter training certificates. Furniture and age-appropriate equipment is in good condition. Rooms have adequate heating, lighting, ventilation. Floors appear to be clean and safe. Drinking water is readily accessible. Bathrooms are maintained with operational toilets and faucets with appropriate temperature. Paper towels and toilet paper are available. Bathroom is lighted and has ventilation. Food service area consists of a kitchen which is clean and free of hazards. Menu is posted. Adequate food is available for snacks. Cleaning supplies are kept separate from food and are inaccessible to children. Storage containers for solid waste have tight-fitting covers and are kept in good repair. Storage areas for poisons are locked. Facility Representative stated there are no firearms or other weapons on the premises. All foods/beverages capable of rapid spoiling are stored in covered containers at 45F or less. The facility appears to be free of insects and rodents. There is an operational carbon monoxide detector at the facility and smoke alarms are functional. Outdoor play areas are fenced playgrounds for each individual classroom. There was sufficient material for cushioning and all outdoor equipment was age appropriate. Climbing structures, swings and slides are securely fixed to the ground. Area has shade sails and trees are utilized for shade. Area has drinking water readily accessible and grounds are free of debris or potential hazards. LPA reviewed medication storage. Personnel records contain health screening documentation and at least one staff member has current CPR and First Aid certifications. All staff present at time of census have completed mandated reporter training and required immunizations. Each personnel record contains (Continued on LIC809 page 2)

documentation of educational background and training. Sign ins were reviewed. Children’s records contain admission agreements and medical assessment. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions. Facility representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with facility representative and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed facility representative of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.

Facility representative was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.

Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test.
For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180
days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1- CCP).
LPA verified that the lead testing was completed in accordance to the Written Directives outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP.
