25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Linda Almaraz and Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Carlos Martinez conducted case management visit to address an Unusual Incident Report (UIR), where it was reported that the facilities water sources were contaminated and had been found to produce water that had high levels of arsenic and e- coli was also detected.
During this visit, LPA spoke with David Macleod, who stated that this issue had been on-going, dating back to 2014. He indicated that the school is subject to water testing on an annual basis and the results came back positive. David mentioned that the main source of water for the school district was via 3 wells and 1 of the them (Well 3) was contaminated. Davis also indicated that the school was currently working with San Diego County of Environmental Health and State Water Resources Control Board to get into compliance, and had obtained the services of a contractor to work on the water system.
LPA confirmed that there have been no reports of anyone at the school becoming ill, and have taken appropriate steps to ensure the health and safety of the children by resorting to hand-washing stations, use of filtration and sealed-off any sources that came back positive for contamination. LPA determined there was no Title 22 violations observed.
No deficiencies cited during this visit. Exit interview conducted and a copy of this report was provided. Notice of Site Visit was provided. |
