13 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Saraliz Velando, made an unannounced 10-day initial visit to deliver the findings of a complaint investigation initiated on 2/29/24. LPA Velando toured the home and there were 6 children in care. The Department investigated the allegation that Licensee did not ensure that a firearm was properly stored. Interviews were conducted with licensee, law enforcement, and pertinent legal documentation was also reviewed. The day of the incident on 10/11/23, there was an unsecured and loaded firearm discovered in an off-limits area. Based on the information received by the department, the licensee did not comply with Title 22 regulation section 102417(g)(4)(A) Operation of a Family Child Care Home. Type A Violation was cited. Refer to the next page LIC 809-D for deficiency citation.
