25 | On 5/8/2023 at 9:15 a.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Joelle Redding, made an unannounced visit for the purpose of an Annual Inspection. During this visit, there were three children in care, one under the age of 2 years. The facility is within ratio and capacity. LPA verified that there have been no changes to the association list.
LPA toured the home. Primary child care areas are day care room, hallway bathroom, living room, dining room, access to the kitchen, and fully fenced back yard. The facility sketch on file is accurate. Off limits areas have been made inaccessible with the use of door knob covers or safety gates. There are no weapons stored in the home or on the property and there are no bodies of water present. The fireplace has been secured. The fire extinguisher is full and of adequate size and located in the day care room. The smoke alarm (located day care room) and carbon monoxide detector (plugged in the wall of the living room are operational. Emergency drillst are being conducted and logged, but licensee is overdue as the last drill was done in August of 2022. here is a written Disaster Plan on file. LPA verified there are no changes. The home is clean, orderly with adequate ventilation and heating. Licensee has provided enough space for the children to eat, sleep and play within the home. Licensee provides all food. LPA discussed nutritional requirements and food storage today. The furniture, to include napping materials and children’s toys, books and activities are safe and age appropriate and in good repair. Licensee has checked for recalled items. There is a working telephone and all required forms are posted.
Outdoor play space is fully fenced with age appropriate play equipment and activities in good repair. There are two aloe vera plants that LPA asked Licensee to move further back in the plant beds to be away from child areas. Licensee understands there is no smoking in or around day care areas. Licensee has two cats and a dog. LPA reminded Licensee that cat and dog food areas are to be kept clean and sanitary in day care areas and all feces is to be cleaned up from the yard prior to the presence of day care children. |
